The 3-yearly Pan-Pac Barbershop Convention was held in Sydney, 26 September – 1 October 2017. The weather was fine, the skies blue and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Over 750 singers gathered, 170+ from New Zealand, drawn from Australasia, Singapore and Japan.

New Zealand’s premier quartet, Vocal FX, under the direction of Charlotte Murray, was not in the competition but easily outshone all other competitors when they were scored by the same judges in order to challenge the 2018 International Contest to be held in Orlando, Florida in July next year. They achieved a score of 88.5%!
The Most Improved Chorus, for the second time, was Marlborough Sounds.
Well done, all contestants! Great singing!
